Balancing Connection and Protection: Wellness in a Hyper-Connected, Socially Charged World

May 29 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In a time when political discourse, social causes, and constant connectivity are part of our daily lives, how do we remain actively engaged in our communities and workplaces without compromising our mental wellness and personal boundaries — especially when these issues impact the very identities, families, and roles we hold?

Learning Objectives
  • Recognize the Impact of hyper-connectivity, political discourse, and identity-driven social movements on mental health, workplace dynamics, and personal boundaries.
  • Identify Common Burnout Triggers related to over-engagement, digital saturation, and emotionally taxing advocacy or workplace demands.
  • Define Healthy Boundaries for navigating conversations around social justice, workplace activism, and personal identity while maintaining professional engagement and mental resilience.
  • Apply Practical Tools for self-regulation, digital hygiene, and community engagement that prioritize wellness without disengagement or detachment.
  • Evaluate Organizational Cultures for their role in supporting or straining employee wellness in socially complex times.
Session Goals
  • Empower Participants to stay meaningfully engaged with current events and social causes without internalizing the emotional toll.
  • Promote Psychological Safety in workplaces where identity and advocacy are often part of everyday discourse.
  • Encourage Dialogue around empathy, respect, and emotional intelligence as foundational tools for personal and professional boundaries.
  • Foster a Culture of Collective Care where wellness is not just an individual responsibility, but a shared value in teams and organizations.
